Mosquito KNIGHTHAWKS WIN at the 2010 Kathy Thomas Memorial Tournament

Special congratulations goes out to our Mosquito Knighthawks for winning the 10th annual 2010 Kathy Thomas Memorial Tournament.

Special congratulations goes out to our Mosquito Knighthawks for winning the 10th annual Kathy Thomas Memorial Tournament.

The Kathy Thomas Memorial Tournament was played from May 22nd to the 24th and is hosted by the Surrey Canadians.  The games were played at beautiful Lionel Courchene park.

The Knighthawks slugged there way thru the preliminary round with a 3 - 0 record on there way to first place and the #1 seed in the playoff round.  The Knighthawks entered the semi-final with a renewed confidence and continued there slugging ways in a lopsided victory to reach the finals.

In what was a great game, the Knighthawks jumped out to a 9 - 4 lead after 3 innings only to have a very determined Tigers team scratch and claw there way back to 9 - 8.  With 1 runner on and two out the Knighthawks sealed the deal with a ground ball out and the celebration began.

Special congratulations goes out to the Surrey Canadians for hosting such a great tournament and to all the players and parents for a great weekend of ball.
